Production Maintenance Positions Available:

Each position requires that you have a high school diploma or GED and are able to work in the U.S without sponsorship.

Production Maintenance Overview:

Progress Rail is one of the largest global suppliers of new and reconditioned freight car components for Class I railroads, shortlines, freight car manufacturers and private freight car owners.  This site manufactures  freight car wheels, axles, bearings, bolsters, side frames, couplers, yokes, brake beams, draft gears and single car test devices.  Amentum has been a strong partner with Caterpillar for over 20 years to bring them best in class facility and production maintenance  The Winston Salem team is growing to support the LaGrange lines that are moving into the facility. 

Physical requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Work at heights of 30ft or more in an aerial or scissor lift

  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

3 years of experience performing trouble-shooting techniques on mechanical equipment such as CNC machine tools, pumps, agitators, hydraulic systems, compressed air and other gas equipment and distribution systems

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

7PM-7AM 12HR Rotational Days Off

Diagnoses and troubleshoots automated Fanuc robotics systems, Hydraulic Presses, pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems, and conveyor systems.

5 Years of Experience

Industrial Maintenance Millwright/Rigger V

7AM-7PM 12 HR Rotational Days Off

Maintains, improves, and participates in developing control systems, programming ladder logic / PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens S7, Fanuc, GE, MicroLogix, ControlLogix, and PLC-5) and HMI.

Works with Allen Bradley, controls and instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, as well as primary voltages up to and including 480v.
